Do you remember Saturday Morning Cartoons when you were kids? Whatever happened to the GOOD quality cartoons that used to be on? Remember Superfriends, Batman, and Scooby Doo? They've been replaced by
CRAP like Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon. I try to do the "
Quality Time" thing with the kids on Saturday mornings, but what they want to watch makes me sick. I mean even the cartoons that helped with learning like "Conjunction Junction" and such are nowhere to be found anymore. It's sad. So what can we do to improve childrens programming?

The classic age of Saturday Morning Cartoons went out about the time I graduated from High School in '87. I noticed that stupid cartoons like the GI Joe series and others replaced the good Looney Toons stuff.
Hey John, you gotta stay away from the Japanese anime, and move into the Nick cartoons.
SpongeBob and Fairly Odd Parents are able to be what no one thought possible - an entertainingly funny cartoon without all the gratuitus violence... And the contemporary Batman cartoons are much more intense and dramatic then the Justice League ever could aspire to. Lets face it - did we REALLY need a super-dog??
This comes from an experienced conniseur of cartoons... After all, I've spent many years watching them with my 9 month old daughter.. (ok, and before she joined me - its true )
